Reality...

I just realized the other day that I need to post stuff on here that my children will love to read and cherish later on.  I need to get better at posting the everyday wonders.  So to start tonight we had a rotisserie chicken that I grabbed the grocery store.  As I was uncovering it Navie and Blake were watching every little move.  Navie then turned to Blake and said "you know what this chicken is made of, pig."  I had to laugh!  Jag is an angel and has a great new talent of taking my hair elastics and slingshotting them into the chandeliers.  He loves it but only feels successful when it gets tied up and stuck there.  He thinks he is so good and waits for me to get a broom to knock it down.  Blake has become the little "mother" in the house and has really surprised me.  She makes all the beds in the morning and then picks up all the clothes.  She is great at folding laundry and putting it away.  I am in awe of how much this little 4 year can handle.  To be honest the only thing that worries me about her is that she is not so good at holding babies.  She likes to move them around and flop their heads back and forth and push on their legs.  I have to monitor her like a hawk when she holds Greer.  Bless her heart.  Greer is becoming just wonderful her thrush is all gone and she has settled down dramatically.  She loves to be held and always wants someone near her.  I admit she must be spoiled because if you put her down and walk away she is really good at starting to cry.  I love my children with all my heart and feel blessed everyday that I am around them.  I am always trying to improve and be the mother that I had.  I have great role models and and can only aspire to be like them.  Mom thanks for all your help this past week and for straightening out my game.  For a peek into Ryan, something that I love about him but that you really have to pay attention to notice is his whistling.  No matter what his mood is whenever he is walking somewhere or getting something or passing by he is whistling.  I don't even think that he realizes that he is doing it I'm sure by now it is purely habit.  Regardless of why he does it it brightens the mood around here.  To me there is something about hearing a thing as casual as whistling that makes you happy and think of children playing and innocence.  I love the little things about Ryan that most don't know.  He truly is one of the most sincere, thoughtful, intelligent people that I know.  I am blessed to have this family and I pray daily that I don't forget that.  I love my family and I want them to always remember that.

Scott Hamilton?!

So for Tommy Stapleys birthday they rented out Polar Ice and had  bunch of people come to play broom ball.  It was a great time and we got to catch up with so many people that we hadn't seen in a long time.  Thanks to the Stapleys we always have fun things to do.  They invited a lot of their friends and then let everyone invite friends as well.  We had no idea that someone knew the famous ice skater Scott Hamilton!  We were all thrilled to see that someone famous was there.  Now you might not recognize him but look hard because we know for sure this was him he was doing some triple sow cows and triple toe lutzes, it was truly amazing and then he turned int Apollo Ohno and started speed skating.  This guy was truly talented!!!  I feel so honored to have hung with someone so skilled...?

P.S. Does anyone think Nates helmet is, I don't know, a tad bit small?

Random updates...

Okay so I have been terrible about keeping this updated I am going to admit I have been extremely overwhelmed.  Boy, number four threw me overboard and for a while I thought I was going to sink.  I think I have struggled because all my other babies were so so good and Greer has been a little hard (or border-line a lot), she got thrush really bad and it went down her throat so she could not eat very well.   That made her fussy and she lost weight because of it and the medication takes so long to get rid of it all that we are just a little on edge over here.  She is so teeny and so she sleeps not so good!!!  I think God is telling me that I need to be content and stop having babies!  I guess my mother was right when she said, "Someone has to be the baby!"   Who knows but right now we are definitely done.  Poor Ryan has had to deal with a lot and I am not going to lie I have been struggling with post partum depression and feel like the sun is just starting to shine again.  Don't worry all you people I really am doing better and have a great support system.  My mother has been to visit again and helped us out a lot.  Thank you mom for all you have done and I am blessed to have you at beckon call.  I cannot express how much I owe my mother she steps in and takes over and keeps everything running, but most importantly she loves my children and my husband.  It is invaluable to have someone that loves and helps and hugs and kisses and comforts whenever you need it.  Thanks again mom I owe you big and I appreciate all that you did for me and my family!   Meanwhile my family is still growing and things are progressing around here.  Jag is growing up and is the sweetest boy in the world.  He always says please and thank you and cleans up after himself.  I could honestly eat that boy I love him to death.  Ryan is prepping him for life ahead and he loves to "fake" mow the lawn it is so cute!  Ryan taught Blakely to ride her bike without training wheels and she is a dare devil. She is not afraid to go at it and it is quite different from our experience with Navie!  She learned to ride this bike in a few minutes and other than getting her started she can do the whole thing herself.  She is a great big helper and such a lover.  She loves to cuddle and kiss and take care of "mommy" things around the house!  Greer is so cute and she really is starting to wake up more and look at you.  She is just about 5 weeks old now and the kids and parents are loving every single moment.  There is something so wonderful about having a new baby in the home.  I will make sure to get more pictures of her and post them because she is precious.  Thank you to everyone and especially Ryan I love you so much and am so happy to have my wonderful family.  Love to all!

P.S.  I need addresses so that I can send out birth announcements!  Thanks...

Don't Judge me?!

So I don't know if I am the best mom ever...  I think that my children know that sometimes I give in and am a softy especially through the pregnancy when I was SO tired.  They learned to keep hassling me and be persistent to get what they want.  I am going to change that now that I have the long lost energy that I have so badly missed.  Thank heavens that the energy returned eventually.  So Navie was not so good the other night.  I mean really not so good and I have learned that the only thing she truly cares about is playing with her cousin Lauren after school.  Navie could care less if you take away her bike or I Pod or DS those things truly don't phase her in the slightest.  So if I want to get to her and teach her a lesson I ground her from Lauren.  Sorry Lauren but it is the  only way that Navie learns anything!  Therefore that was her punishment the other night that she could not play with Lauren after school the next day!  Trust me she was devastated especially when Lauren showed up to our house to play.  She asked me if there was anything that she could do to not be grounded she so terribly wanted to play.  I told her "no" that she would learn not to trow fits at night time.  Then she approached me with an offer I could not resist she said that if she pulled out her front tooth would she not be grounded.  It took me two seconds to reply "YES" she could not be grounded if she got rid of that tooth.  For all of you that didn't get the chance to see it just watch Nanny McPhee and you can she a perfect replica.  It was her last big front tooth and ever since she lost the first one that tooth migrated to the middle of her mouth.  It was horrible everyone and their dog attempted to let her pull it but she was defiant that it was going to stay until it fell out.  Let's just say that it was so ugly that even I agreed to pull it and I DON"T go near mouths ever!!!!  After our agreement she walked back to her Dad and he had that thing pulled in two seconds.  So she wiggled her way out of a grounding this time but she doesn't have anymore loose teeth so hopefully I will learn to stick to my guns from here on out!  Children are amazing and I must admit that I have some pretty smart kiddos on my hands!
P.S. For anyone that follows my blog you know that a while back Jag hid my credit cards and it took forever to find them.  Should I have learned my lesson...  I am  missing my Drivers License and I saw that boy with my wallet.  When will I ever learn?!

New Years!

This new years was really chill.  Ryan and I are definitely getting older we had no real plans and decided that a movie would do!  We went and saw Valkyrie and afterwards picked our kids up from my mother in laws and went home.  Bret and two of his girls joined us for the countdown at our house.  The kids went outside and banged pots and pans and yelled enough that I don't know if our neighbors like us anymore or not?!  The kisses were spread around and we all rang in the year as a family!  Here's to 2009 we hope that this year is great for us and all of you!

Cabin Fever!

Thanks to Rusty and Caryn for inviting our family up to their cabin for a day we had a great time!  I think the kids were in heaven because of the play room which had new unseen toys.  We relaxed and played cards, thanks guys for entertaining me and I'm sorry Rusty that you got smocked.  Honestly we even tried to help him out but he was just not very good at cards...  The adults took the kids to the snow and they had a great time sledding and trying to snow board.  Other than our children being horrible sleepers while we were there it was a super time.  Thanks again guys we hope that you enjoyed us enough to invite us back, you never know with us if we ruined our welcome on the first visit.  Love you all!
